I purchased this bag to bring groceries from my car (parking garage) into my condo. I live in a highrise building and I only use it indoors; it is rolling very well on hardwood, concrete and marble floors. It also rolls very well on a hallway carpet, which is not very fluffy. It doesn’t roll on a fluffy carpet inside my place when it is full of groceries. I am able to fit a lot of stuff in this bag, please see photo attached. And also, it is a relatively good looking shopping bag, much better than these metal carts that are heavy and make tons of noise.
I love, love, love these bags! I have bought a ton of them, for myself, for gifts and for spares. It is not for a lot of weight, I can’t imagine that it would be for the price. I use as an overnight bag, for the gym, and it is great on vacation to carry as a tote, then open up and pull if I buy things. I always keep one in each car, use one to travel for my personal item. Fits great under an airplane or plane seat. My mom uses one to carry her portable oxygen and extra tubing in. I had got her another, heavier bag for that purpose, but it was hard to get in and out of the car etc., where this is perfect size and collapses nicely, without the heavy support frame. I will always have a supply of these.
I purchased this for my mom to used to haul her belongings to and from the pool at the local fitness club. She walks with a cane and everything was getting really hard to carry. The size of the bag and the wheels have really helped her get her stuff in safely without having to make her walking more difficult. So far so good. I think so far the only complaint I personally would have is that the bag had a powerful chemical smell when I received it. I left it outside a couple of days, filled it with scented dryer sheets and it was still fairly strong by the time I gave it to her. I think over time the smell with completely go away, but if you are sensitive to chemical smells this might not be something you want.
Height is optimal for me. The material seems good. You can smell a weird scent at first but It will pass when you use it one time. It can easily fall over If you do not hold it when it’s full. You should drag the bag If you can’t drive it. But even dragging is enough to handle weight because while dragging you carry lighter and that way is comfortable. You shouldn’t expect a miracle bag or shopping car under 50 dollars. It is very very cost effective. I have lumbar lordosis so I can’t carry any bag above 2 kgs but with this bag, I carried 7 kgs thanks to wheels. Also, I don’t want to go shopping with a car or a huge thing so I bought this; when you make it be zipped it’s like a handbag.
I love this bag. I bought it to use on my college campus mainly, but I’ll find plenty other uses for it too.
This is actually my second bag. The first one I ordered had a huge hole in it in the front pocket and the store replaced it immediately.
I currently have 4 textbooks, a 3 hole binder and a pencil pouch in it.
I’ve never had one of these and have resisted getting one as looking “old-lady-ish.” But a broken arm and shoulder injury finally convinced me of the necessity and after much looking and reading reviews, I chose this one.
What I like:
**The plain black looks smart and professional.
**The handle comes up far enough to reach my hand without bending over (I’m 5’8″).
**The handle retracts and pulls up easily.
**The straps let me carry it over my shoulder when I need to (boarding a bus or walking up steps).
**It seems quite sturdy.
Not so much:
**The weight of the bar makes the bag heavier than I’d been expecting.
**The wheels are pretty noisy when it’s rolling along.
**I wish it had those wheels that turn completely around.
**It doesn’t have as much room inside as I’d thought, not enough for a big grocery shopping.
Overall though, I like it, considering I’m still getting used to using it. It’s definitely better than carrying two huge bags, loaded down like a pack animal.
I’ve just bought my third tote bag. My first two bags each lasted 2.5 years with heavy use. I use it to carry groceries and household products, including 20lb bags of cat litter from the store to my apartment. It usually fits all my groceries when shopping for two people for a week of groceries. Occasionally I need to use another small tote for eggs and bread so they don’t get squished. I use this bag at least once a week and wheel it an average round trip of 3 miles in all weather conditions (including Chicago winters). Given the heavy usage, I think getting 2.5 years out of each bag indicates the quality and durability of the bags.
